The Regiment was formally affiliated to the Drapers’ Company in May 2007.  The Drapers Company is one of the oldest and most influential City Livery Companies and is third in precedence of the Twelve Great City Livery Companies, after the Mercers and the Grocers.  The Company is a powerful charitable body whose main function is the administration of trusts from which thousands of people benefit each year – school children, students, educational and charitable institutions, the elderly, the homeless and poor.  The Drapers have strong connections to Wales and strongly support their military affiliations.

Drapers

The Regiment enjoy an excellent relationship with The Drapers' Company. Parties of Drapers have visited the Battalion on operations and training in Bosnia, Belize and twice to Kenya. Drapers also form part of the Regiment's Battlefield Tours each year which have included the WW1 battles of The Somme and Ypres as well as Normandy and Monte Cassino in WW2.

The Drapers are very supportive to the Regiment. Each year the Company give a donation to the Battalion to support battalion activities. A Drapers' Medal is also awarded each year to a member of the Battalion whom the Commanding Officer recommends to the Court for outstanding service. The Company have also donated £20,000 to the Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal and also £15,000 to Welsh Guards 100 in its Centenary Year in 2015. The Master and Wardens have also allowed the Regiment to hold fund raising, and other events, at the Hall.

A number of Welsh Guardsmen are also members of the Draper Company.
