On Wed 5th December, the Battalion celebrated its annual ‘Christmas In a Day’ commencing with the Battalion, recently back together having safely returned from operational deployment to Afghanistan, parading together ready for inspection.
Once the formalities had been completed the Battalion stepped off and, led by the Corps of Drums, marched to the Chapel at the Army Training Centre for the traditional Church service.
Once there, the sounds of Christmas carols and a brass quintet filled the air and provided a chance to reflect on a busy year and the gratitude for a safe return.
Immediately following the Church service, it was time for the Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers to stick with another Regimental tradition and serve a 3 course Christmas lunch to all Guardsmen.
After lunch it was an opportunity for families to join the festivities, and no Christmas party would be complete with a visit from Father Christmas!
