11am Wednesday 7th November saw the opening of the Cardiff Field of Remembrance in the grounds of Cardiff Castle and of course Welsh Guardsmen were in attendance.
The site is one of six across the UK created by the Royal British Legion to remember those who have lost their life in service since the First World War. There will be more than 120,000 tributes planted across the six sites, taking the form of a cross, Muslim Crescent, Star of David, Sikh Khanda, Hindu Om or a secular tribute.
The tradition of planting a Field of Remembrance began in 1928 and is particularly poignant this year as we approach the centenary of the Armistice.
