Very many congratulations to the Battalion Running Team on coming first in the 2018 Chepstow Stampede. The team are the reigning champions, having won in 2017 also. The Battalion Running Team is going from strength to strength, especially heartening when you consider that some team members only arrived from training in October. A supreme effort from all involved; LSgt Burrows-Jones, Gdsm Jenkins, Gdsm Emmanuel, Gdsm Locke, Gdsm Scott, Gdsm Evans 10, Gdsm Trematick and Gdsm Ryan.
Run on Saturday 17th November, the Chepstow Stampede course has been designed to introduce the novice to the physical demands of cross country running, whilst also challenging the hardiest elite runners. It includes manmade horse hurdles and maximises the natural obstacles of the stunning surrounding landscape, including ditches and mud pits.
It scales steep banks, has leg-burning hills and run sections through water as well as running through the picturesque surroundings of Chepstow Racecourse and Piercefield Park, while taking in beautiful sections of the Wye Valley Walk.
