Match Day Report 1WG vs JSSU
Location- Mercury Lines Cyprus
Kick off- 1500
After some gruelling training in the Cyprus sun the Battalion team would face our Host JSSU. A true service team made up from communication specialists from across all 4 services.
The game got off to a very fast start with the Welsh guards dominating play from the off and chances were created from various position and situations.
In a very competitive game which so some moments of magic from the Battalion Attacking units, the deadlock was broken and the Battalion team grabbed the first goal of the game.
As the game progressed it was apparent that all the hard work done on the training pitches was paying off.
Not to long after the Battalion side scored a second and looked comfortable in the lead. The game took a turn.
As the game progressed the Cyprus heat slowly starting to take its toll on a couple of players. A mistake in the back allowed JSSU to get their noses back into the game 2-1. With minutes left and JSSU throwing everything forward including the kitchen sink, we were undone by a handball in the box, a penalty to JSSU. The game finished 2-2 all honours shared.
