The Regimental Battlefield Tour returned to Italy again for the second year running.
Between 21-26 September some 51 from across the Regiment, including serving and retired along with a party from the Drapers Company, studied the Guards Brigade advance from Rome to the Gothic Line.
Over four days the battles of Perugia, San Marco, Arezzo and Monte Battaglia were looked at in detail as well as other engagements and places where 3 WG fought and were based.
Four military cemeteries, where Welsh Guardsmen are laid to rest, were also visited and where a short Service was held and wreaths laid.
The church of St Marks was also visited in Florence where a Regimental Memorial is dedicated to all Welsh Guardsmen who lost their lives between February and April 1944.
The sun shone throughout the trip and the tour was a great success
