Although the Welsh Guards Association (WGA) celebrations planned in Brecon on 1st March had to be cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards managed to celebrate together on the training areas of Pirbright.
Fresh from success on Ex KABUL DAWN in Caerwent, the Battalion held a very special St David’s Day celebration in the form of a Drumhead service, led by the Battalion Padre on 1st March.
The Battalion paraded on the training area for the service, singing, praying, remembering and dining al fresco.

They are now fully prepared and set for deploying to Afghanistan at the end of March.
