On Wednesday 15th September 60 members of the three Welsh Combat Regiments (Queen's Dragoon Guards, Welsh Guards and The Royal Welsh) and members of the Cadet Force (Wales) had the opportunity to meet with Members of Parliament representing the Welsh Constituencies and several prominent Welsh members of the House of Lords. Sponsored by Mr Chris Davies MP, the Member of Parliament for Brecon and Radnorshire, a total of 45 MP's and Lords chatted, over tea and sandwiches with Welsh Guardsmen in the Thames Pavillion, the House of Commons.
With several Ministers in attendance and with talks by Major General Ben Bathurst CBE, Major General Commanding the Household Division and General Officer Commanding London District (as well as Deputy Regimental Lieutenant Colonel Welsh Guards), Colonel Alan Peterson, Honorary Colonel Cadets (Wales) and all three Regimental Representatives, it was an ideal opportunity for MP's to get to know their military constituents in a more informal and relaxed environment.
