Sidney John Elsbury (Guardsman 2734413) who enlisted into the Welsh Guards on 10th February 1936 and served for 9 years 55 days, celebrated his 100th Birthday on Saturday 15th september 2018 and the Welsh Guards were there to help him and his family celebrate.
Lance Sergeant Stuart Laing and Guardsman Amadou Jallow from Regimental Headquarters Welsh Guards travelled to Haverfordwest to deliver a birthday card and to present a copy of the Regimental Centenary Book Bayonets, Bearskins and Body Armour and a personal letter from the Regimental Colonel, His Royal Highness The Prince of wales.
Lance Sergeant Laing topped it off with a rendition of Happy Birthday on the bugle.
