On Friday 31st August the Welsh Guards Band played Aretha Franklin's ‘Respect’ at Buckingham Palace on the day of the Queen of Soul’s funeral. It soon went viral and was viewed 962,562 times on the Channel Four News Facebook page, 390,458 times on British Army Youtube channel, received 5,130 retweets on the Royal Family Twitter account and was picked up by worldwide media resulting in the number of views and shares being far too many to count or even keep track of.
