The Welsh Guards are proud to be involved in the Sam Warburton OBE testimonial year.
In support of Sam's chosen charities, the Welsh Guards provided a "Day with the 1st Battalion" prize which was auctioned at a dinner in order to raise funds.
So this week we welcomed the winning bidders at this auction to Pirbright.
Once the temporary Guardsmen were kitted out in uniform they started with pistol firing on the range.
Next they learned survival skills including how to find fresh water and forage for food. Luckily for all involved lunch was served in the Officers' Mess so they didn't have to rely upon their new skills!
The afternoon finished with command tasks. It was a pleasure to host our guests and demonstrate the variety inherent in life as a Welsh Guardsman.
