After the 2018 Welsh Guards Association St David's Day celebrations in Brecon had to be cancelled at the last moment due to the Beast from the East depositing a large amount of snow on Wales, we were delighted to be able to return to Brecon this year on 1st March 2019 to celebrate.
The Association were glad to have Number 2 Company on parade with them and, along with the Regimental Band, it made for a very memorable day for all involved.
Following the traditional St David's Day service held at Brecon Cathedral, the Regimental Band led Number 2 Company 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and members of the Welsh Guards Association as they navigated the narrow streets of Brecon into the town centre where the parade halted in front of the wellington Hotel where the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel, Major General RJÆ Stanford MBE took the salute and Councillor David Meredith, Chairman of Powys County Council, presented leeks to those on parade.
