Not Welsh Guard specific, but links to some very useful websites for all serving and veteran Welsh Guardsmen:
The Veterans Gateway puts veterans and their families in touch with the organisations best placed to help with the information, advice and support they need – from healthcare and housing to employability, finances, personal relationships and more.
The Forces Pension Society is your independent not-for-profit pension watchdog, fighting for the interests of the Armed Forces and their families, of particular interest to those who served less than 12 years think they don’t qualify for a pension and yet they are entitled to a Lump Sum and Preserved Pension payable at 65 but it is not paid out automatically and has to be claimed.
The Lady Grover’s Fund which helps with meeting the unexpected costs of illness and care for any commissioned officer (or their widow/widower). As a Friendly Society, it is exceptionally good value for money and helps provide additional nursing, hospital or domestic care people might otherwise be unable to afford.
The Military Mutual, available to everyone, whether you’re serving, a veteran, a pensioner, a family member or a proud supporter of our armed forces. When you take out cover you automatically become a Member and can have a say in how the Mutual is run. By joining The Military Mutual, you’ll be helping us to generate surplus funds that can be used to help support the military family
